1- It's the point of the game, to be hard. One of the legit few games that makes it a point to be. Games are so easy nowadays that it got famous out of it
2- Programming any easy mode/help/whatever would detract from the experience it's meant to be and it's wasted resources that could go towards anything else, polish, etc

@coolboymew @jenny they should make an easy mode but your character just carries a pool noodle and it takes one hit to kill every enemy including bosses.
