remind me again why the government, a non-profit public service, feels the need to seek patents to, i quote,

NIH said in a statement that its scientists created the “stabilized coronavirus spike proteins for the development of vaccines against coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV-2,” and the government consequently has “sought patents to preserve the government’s rights to these inventions.”

so let me get this straight

the public does useful work
the government steals our money at gunpoint
the public then pays for fauci's agency to do experiments
who then patents the result of the experiments we paid for
and then profiteers on the research we were forced to pay for

@icedquinn Now, let's imagine all the cures and vaccines we could have if we actually had a free market.

@xianc78 ngl if they were sharing the schematics with everyone i would have been far less skeptical.

but you get corpos like gates going "nope we absolutely couldn't let anyone else make these, don't you dare talk about open source medicine"

@icedquinn Not even that. It's pretty much confirmed now that HCQ and Ivermectin are effective treatments for COVID, yet both of those require a prescription.
