@xianc78 i used to say if i ever bikeshed an Office suite, i would never bother with power point and just make a HyperCard clone.
At its least useful it makes good slideshows.

@icedquinn This was before my time but I heard it was some sort of precursor to the World Wide Web except that it was files stored locally on your computer instead on server over the Internet. And that people were creative enough to make games and other applications with it.
And PowerPoint already has Visual Basic scripting so I think such a thing would be pointless today.
it was uh. hypertalk is what javascript was based on but it was changed because corporate "wanted it to be like that java thing." but it was weird.
at the most basic level you could use it to make slideshows. there were different cards in a stack and there's a background layer that could be shared on some cards.
you could put buttons and stuff on there and hook it up with scripts at a more advanced level. it had some basic database support as well. people made their own little point of sale things or business management tools.
every old System mac also had it built in. so it was .. i dunno. kind of like if everyone just had Multimedia Fusion built in to their computer and it was everywhere.
Nothing else like it really exists. People who remake it ultimately sell it as some corpo RAD product tool, or you're stuck with things like Impress or PowerPoint which suck.
