Most mainstream rhetoric about abortion is retarded. Abortion is not a morally innocuous women's health care procedure like a breast exam. They spin it as a "woman's choice" but when you break down which women are choosing to do what and why, it's almost always about eugenics. Note that eugenics isn't always a bad thing, since even Christian-friendly prohibitions on incest count as a form of eugenics and every society more advanced than Afghanistan has such taboos in place. Morally speaking, abortion is more troublesome than that, though it's not as bad as Nazi mass extermination either, since while a fetus is a developing human being it's not the same level in terms of pain, suffering, etc. Most normal people are like this, they treat abortion as something that's kind of icky and certainly not something to be celebrated, but they also don't go "annudah shoah" about it like hardcore pro-lifers do.
