So they have to have a pre-existing franchise to build their worldview around. It's the same reason why they also started infiltrating the modding and ROM hacking scenes and why original games with SJW politics tend to be story focused with minimal gameplay (Last of Us, Gone Home, 2064: Read Only Memories).
