People on fedi aren’t as into VR as I am
but do they know about
THIS
@shebang The only thing I would use a VR headset for is so that nobody knows what I'm looking at when I'm on the computer.
@xianc78 These are things that people who don’t know how awesome it is say.
@shebang VR doesn't seem interesting to me. In fact, I enjoy 2D games more than 3D games. Plus, most VR games I've seen reek of "my first Unity project."
Not saying that there aren't any good VR games. I just think it's worth the money.
@shebang But do these VR headsets make good privacy screens at least? I remember John Carmack said on the Joe Rogan podcast that you can use an Occulus as a regular computer monitor, but I'm definitely not buying that now that you have to link it to Facebook.
@xianc78 No. Index 2 (“Valve Deckard”) or some of the very most expensive ones will look sharp enough for small text.
These are for playing games.
@xianc78 Don’t be mistaken though, the resolution on these things is pretty high, especially on the Quest 2. They look good, and text in games is very readable. Even putting something like fedi or twitch as a floating window in a game you’ll be able to read it. But as like, using it for coding or something like that for an extended period of time … I wouldn’t.
@xianc78 That’s.. not at all similar.
But you be you
