@icedquinn Still waiting for a P2P HTTP alternative that doesn't suck.

@icedquinn Doesn't support dynamic sites, so nobody is going to use it. I had a lot of faith in ZeroNet until that incident with the failed 8chan bunker.

@xianc78 people are apparently using it for NFTshit :blobcatfacepalm:

dynamic content + peer to peer is cursed. this is the mistake matrix also made.

matrix is like "but all the servers own the rooms at the same time" and there's complicated as shit sync algorithms.

psyc is like "ok so individual chatrooms belong to a specific server, but we can use multicasting to efficiently disperse updates" and that is :blobcatfingerguns2:
@xianc78 FWIW zeronet's dynamism is largely based on having a bucket of json files that your computer vomits at other people, and it checks to see if the site owner has put the signing key for those files in the manifest.

it then hides some of this by parsing the json and keeping it in sqlite where it can be queried efficiently

@icedquinn People mostly use if for file sharing, last time I checked. The ZeroNet site, ZeroUp is a great place to download and share PDFs among other things.
