@p FSF is dead to me, I'm sure many will agree.
@Xalef @p What do you mean? They fired RMS ages ago over fake bullshit, unless he's back in his original position after all that proved him innocent, I want nothing to do with FSF. A bunch of groups signed a letter that essentially forced RMS out, but I think he was (is?) back in a lesser position.

Here's the letter that forced his firing:

Here's the letter that supports him:

Some notable groups that had members sign the letter forcing him out:

Debian Project, GNOME Foundation, OSI, Creative Commons, Freedom of the Press Foundation, Framasoft, Mozilla, The HardenedBSD Foundation, SUSE, Riseup Networks, X.org Foundation, The FreeDOS Project, Tor Project, others.

Another excuse to post this image. (Also Riseup is CIA, mark my words.)

@Xalef @coyote Discard everything they have ever said and just look at what they do. It's a honeypot for ancoms: free email service, free VPN. If the feds weren't already inside it, they'd be on their way, it's too juicy a target. Also funded by the NED, which is a known CIA cutout.

@p @coyote @Xalef They even lied about not giving data to the FBI (they gave in once).

I was never aligned with their beliefs but I used to use their VPN service (it was free and it didn't require an invite) and it is probably one of my biggest regrets.

@xianc78 I only use Riseup VPN for torrenting, to be honest. Never given me any troubles. The FBI can handle all the copyright violation letters they want
Follow

@lethe I don't think the FBI gives a fuck about that. Hell, people download ROMs all the time using they're bare ISP and they never get caught. But I think using a VPN (even a shitty one like RiseUp) for anything P2P is a good idea, otherwise you are exposing your IP address to every other peer on the network and torrenting through Tor isn't recommended.
