@xianc78 @aprogrammer in the end, you realize that if you want to do LBRY "the right way", you should just pin a video to IPFS. Which is actually in reality what LBRY is doing. The metadata is not important. Maybe you can say "oh well then it goes onto Odysee and they'll help you out with exposure/IPFS seeding", and that's true, but that doesn't mean LBRY is meaningfully decentralized.
@crunklord420 @aprogrammer@mk.nixnet.social I would assume the video files themselves are hosted via WebTorrent or something similar and the magnets would be listed in the blocks.
There's little value in the blockchain metadata portion. That doesn't actually contain the video, I'm not even sure if it contains comments.
They have been claiming since 2017 that they are investigating properly decentralizing their video hosting, but in reality that seems unlikely if not impossible. There's no "proof of video" mechanism.
