Looks like golang finally has added generics in a non-experimental capacity. The syntax doesn't seem bad, I haven't tried using it. Personally I replaced my usage of Golang with Rust, specifically for webservice applications like website backends.

@crunklord420 I've tried Golang once. It basically forces you to use a certain file structure in order to compile projects.

@xianc78 yeah, but so does Rust. The alternative is Makefile/CMake madness. Not that I have a big issue, I write my own makefiles for my C/C++ stuff.

I like being able to build applications that build applications that generate code to be built into applications: https://git.kiwifarms.net/CrunkLord420/diggaym/src/branch/master/Makefile
@Tropical_Paradise @xianc78 I dunno, like 6 months, not full time, but like all good gamedevs I crunch near deadline.
@Tropical_Paradise @xianc78 diggaym was way too ambitious, I probably should have stuck with my first idea of making a Meat Boy/Celeste style platformer but I just became fascinated with the idea of destructible terrain, then I ended up just turning the game back into a platformer during crunch for the sake of the release date.

I want to keep my August 11th Terry Death Day anniversary going, but I think I might just make something really small this year. Maybe not even a game, just a "toy".
@crunklord420 @xianc78 I've got 834 hours on rust. I think it's fair for me to say that I've mastered most aspects of the game. I know how to build correctly and make strong bases, I know which monuments are worth my time and which are not, I know generally where people go for PvP, i can do cargo and oil rig with my eyes closed I've done them so much. I have a keep eye for raid targets and I've been through my fare share of onlines but the one thing I constantly struggle with is PvP. Mastering all the weapons in the game is very very difficult and considering you have milliseconds of respond to being shot at you can did before you even fire your gun. The human interaction keeps me playing meeting new people and raiding and PvP even tho I am not the best. I've met 13 people from rust that I now class a my friends and we play other games aswell not just rust. I think I've explained more about the game here than this video. Anyone who buys this game rn all I have to say to you is do not trust people and stop building huge bases a simple 2x2 with honeycomb will do for a start, you don't need to build massive 4x4 bases with nothing inside but a TC and a large box.
@crunklord420 @xianc78 I mean, I just have to say, rust is not a game , its a full time job . (yes))
