Jan 6 Capitol protester granted asylum in Belarus

US citizen Evan Neumann has been granted asylum in Belarus after fleeing “political persecution” by the FBI in the form of six charges stemming from his alleged participation in the Jan 6 riot. (BeLTA)

“My country is in trouble.” Neumann told the press Tuesday, adding that “I’m glad that Belarus has taken care of me.”

Initially traveling to Italy after allegedly finding himself on the FBI’s Most Wanted list, 48-year-old Neumann then traveled through Switzerland, Germany, and Poland to Ukraine, where he stayed for several months.

The former handbag manufacturer was detained by border guards upon trying to cross into Belarus in August, and subsequently requested asylum. Belarus does not have an extradition treaty with the US.

@se7en I'm surprised more of them don't do this, tbh
@mrsaturday Most of them remain in prison, uncharged, withiut date for trial
@se7en And getting beaten into a pulp by black prison guards that are told they're anti-BLM
The 8th Amendment is just empty words at this point

@ArdainianRight @se7en @mrsaturday Stop believing that a dumb piece of paper written by the continental mafia gives you rights. You're rights are given to you by existing. You statists have been brainwashed.

@xianc78 @se7en @mrsaturday It's always been a piece of paper that's been selectively enforced at best. But at this point they aren't even pretending you have any rights they're bound to respect.
