I like it that sometimes I can hear the trains from where I live, when they pass through the station. They use the horn and then you hear the "swooooosh".
I dont live exactly right next to the train station but since its just a couple of streets away, I can hear it. Same as I can hear the clock bell from the town hall, also a couple of streets away.

@enigmatico Okay, not really next to one, but it is behind all the houses across the street from me. It's also a freight train, so if it derails, then it would be a disaster. Luckily that has never happened.

@kerosene @enigmatico I used to be obsessed with trains as a toddler. I remember that my Mom was subscribed to some mail service that gave us a Thomas train every month. I even remember stores that were dedicated to those toys.
I wonder if there are some that are still around.
