I have JS disabled, and clicking an image just makes it show up as broken.
I enable JS and refresh, image opens in a separate tab.
Then I click a different image, and I'm getting a "Error 429 Slow down asshole" page.
I disable JS and refresh, now the entire soyte is inaccessible.

Closest is still pretty far away
but at least it's not 8kun. The other option is to use the webring (tm) which has a whole 3 posts per month (but at least keeps higher quality than the unbearable 4chan spam, and the software is usually better).

@kerosene @xianc78 @digdeeper All I know 8kun for is that it was a Qanon safe space filled with MAGA grifters genuinely believing that there are actually white hats in a criminal organization like the government.
Like breaking due to invalid SSL certificate, someone else remotely changing images to something else, making requests to other domains which slows your site down by between a bit and a whole lot (depending on the remote server), and so on.
Also, if you hotlink image files, make sure you always link to them as HTTPS instead of HTTP if your site goes over HTTPS, otherwise causes stuff to break and all that.
