@ryo @xianc78 @josh People will always take the path of least resistance. Trannycord chatrooms and subREEdits are the go-tos for technically illiterate normies who want to ‘admin’ a group without having to understand how to setup any server software. This is why I find it especially perplexing when technical groups like software dev teams decide to host their dev chat officially on Dickord.
@wrongthink @josh @ryo A lot of web hosts have auto-installers for things like WordPress or phpBB. As for chatrooms, just go to any popular IRC server and they will let you create a channel and you can embed it on your site. In fact, prior to Discord, IRC was actually making a small comeback via web-clients.

I remember seeing things like "please join our Discucked chatroom", thinking it was just an option, only to have it ended up being the only active place while the forum itself was rendered irrelevant.
Many forums ended up closing in favor of Discucked.
I warned about it back in 2015~2018, and only 2 forum admins actually listened, the one no longer exists because the community members threw the forum admins under the bus by creating a Discucked chatroom behind her back as she implemented rules against promoting Discucked invite links.
And the other still exists, but even the owner has bent the knee, and is considering to shut his forum down.
