Furries.

Well, I would say they tend to have pretty cool communities but… I don't really know them enough to have much of an opinion than that.
K-pop

It's pop, regardless of the origin, I'm basically not interested by default unless it's linked to some other interests.
I'd rather hear other kinds of music from Korea.
(also trying to count unique reacts for the folks on a misskey)
LGBT Community

Bleh. There is some nice subsets but for the most part, I don't really like it, way too much twitter-style policing and rants.
Abortion
Note: I don't have kids and I probably won't.

Here we go, one where I'm more or less an extremist.
I think it should be a protected right, and I think the only limit I can accept is about age of the fœtus.

Also here's a bonus: Want more births? Making adoption, surrogacy/ART, general healthcare, … better is stuff that would probably actually help.
Non-binary identity

For the social angle… that one is a messy pile of yarn, no idea how it should be introduced but most people do recognise that there isn't just two strict categories, current problem is getting ones that aren't fucking insults.

For the legal angle, I'm more for the removal of gender identity, in the mean time I think adding options should be done even just some placeholder kind of thing.
Because a common thing is for some people to end up with their IDs being seen as fake.
Pizza toppings

Eat what *you* prefer buddy.
For my part I'll just prefer one that's either vegan or as close as possible to it.
Also pineapple pizza? No opinion there, haven't tried one yet and even then it would still be my subjective taste.
Polyamory

From my asexual point of view, it's one of the interesting base ~frameworks, but it depends *a lot* on the people in the relationship.
At least possessive stuff is just not my thing at all, like I find it ridiculous in romantic stories.
Camgirls

I basically don't watch them. But from my quite uninformed point of view, it seems like a way of doing real-life porn (which isn't likely going away) that can be made in a decent way to the models. (One of my wonders is how much of a mess moderation is)
And of course some platforms, agencies, … are probably awful but at least there seems to be a bunch of options, meanwhile for non-porn you're quite stuck youtube+twitch if you don't want niche platforms.
Family

Let's just say one of the nice part of being adult and independent is being able to pick who you want keep contacts with.
Police

Well, they're agents to protect and serve* the state/government/… I wish it would be about the people instead, like having them work more like other care services would probably be much better.
As for how good the police is… I think the good ones tend to leave for other jobs or have comfortable enough positions or places (ie. a decent town/city).

*: Yeah, reusing the USA thing here

Gun Laws

The less lethal weapons there is out there the better. Including for cops (like no carry outside of service and limited to some forces that have also been trained).
It's the kind of shit that can only escalate.

Don't @ me Americans.

Gun Laws

@lanodan
>Don't @ me Americans.

Too late! More private gun ownership is always the answer. Specifically, store owners should start arming their cashiers and stockers and train to kill shoplifters and robbers on sight. That way, we can cut funding on police.

And your shitty European gun laws are no match for the rapid advancements in 3D printing.

re: Gun Laws

@xianc78 I can build a bunch of weapons at home if I wanted to.
And I don't have a 3D printer.

re: Gun Laws

@lanodan If you are getting your info from The Anarchist Cookbook, you are just going to get yourself killed.

re: Gun Laws

@xianc78 Nah, this book is a meme.
And there is actual books for how to make stuff like mortars, pipe-bombs, …

And I wouldn't go with things like pistols, effectively because it's stuff where training is important, which is one of the reasons why to me it's ridiculous when Americans believe having guns protects their rights when they probably barely have any training.

re: Gun Laws

@lanodan Speaking as an American, it seems like most gun owners here don't even use their guns, not even for sport or hunting. They are usually given as gifts from old relatives.

And the time to exercise our second amendment rights should've been back in 1913 when the Federal Reserve act was passed. Citizens should've revolted and stormed the capitol and federal reserve building.
