Why do people use Docker?
Because they don't know how to properly install soyware?
I'd rather say it's because soydevs make installing their soyware as difficult as possible.
It's so difficult even, they resort to Docker containers, and even recommend them over proper installation, making their crap even slower than it already is.

@ryo One of my trainers said that it's "an exciting new technology". It fucking took up so much space on my cheap Windows 11 laptop that I bought solely for this job and then they want me to install Kubernetes on top of that.

@xianc78 "An exciting new technology", how often did I hear this throughout my career as an excuse of shipping bloatware that required maintenance for the rest of the company's existence?

@ryo He also said the same thing about AWS today, even though it's just a fucking VPS host.

@xianc78 When I say that to my clients, they always argue with me saying "it's not a VPS host, it's a cloud platform".
And if I mention ConoHa, Vultr, Linode, CloudVPS, Digital Ocean, and the others as alternatives to AWS, they seemingly have no idea what the hell I'm talking about.

That's what happens if your company is run by soydevs and boomer managers...

@ryo It's an Indian company and I'm training to work for their American branch.
