I don't get the fluoridation of drinking water. If people want to keep their teeth healthy with fluoride, they can just use fluoride toothpaste, right? And people who think it's bad for you for whatever reason can use non-fluoride toothpaste. Much more respectful of personal freedom. Or if toothpaste doesn't cut it for whatever reason that I'm not enough of a scientist to know, there could easily be a market for fluoridated water, or fluoridation machines for tap water if that's convenient enough. Even subsidise it, if it's too expensive for the poor to keep their teeth healthy. I mean, by putting it in the water supply you are automatically subsidising it anyway. So why not do it in a more freedom-respecting way? That mother doesn't have to force fluoride on the whole town to keep her children's teeth healthy. Forced things that don't need to be forced are suspicious. It's not like it's criminal justice.
But also, it is much better to get this kind of change done openly to avoid people being misled about how much fluoride they're getting. And I don't approve of violence or dishonesty towards the general public.
