I think I will quit trying to self host a #Fediverse instance. It's certainly something I want to do eventually, but it's becoming clear that learning how to install the software takes far more time than I have.
Eventually, perhaps I'll get some sort of cloud hosting/service to do it for me and then download the image? 🤷🏾♂️
But I really don't have the time to dig into that, I'm too employed and have too many other interests 😅
@realcaseyrollins If you can't host a Fedi instance you should try twtxt. It's an ultra-minimalist decentralized microblogging network. It's just a text file containing your profile and statuses. That's it. You can even host it on a static website. People follow you via twtxt clients, just like an RSS feed.
@realcaseyrollins There is also a web front-end for twtxt called Yarn if you want a more traditional experience. It still uses twtxt in the background. With how simple the twtxt format is, it's much easier to implement than activity pub.
This is cool! I’ll have to give it a try sometime this week!
