@PhenomX6 @lewdthewides It doesn't matter whether or not there are dissidents. The establishment doesn't like decentralized, free speech, and/or anonymous networks and will do anything to give them a bad rep or justify controlling them in some way.
Pedos seem to piss off both the left and right unlike the "Nazis" who only piss off the left. But admittedly, dissidents on both sides share interests that do attract pedos. The right has loli and the far-left is associated with LGBT (including forcing it on children) and furshit.
And while pedo shit is protected under the first amendment here in the US, it's only a matter of time before someone posts actual CP. 16chan (the imageboard created after the InfinityNext drama) dealt with it by allowing pedo boards but requiring them to be textboards. But you really can't enforce that on the fedi. Sure you can block images only from pedo instances, but you still have the problem of pedos on non-pedo instances. Poast blocked images from GameLiberty for awhile and almost blocked us completely.
You have to write a report in Japanese for them to even do something as they keep getting frivolous reports in English over lolicon instead of CP.
Even Telegram has stronger moderation against them and has a channel with a running count of how many pedophiles they banned today.
