technically i have a license for aseprite i just don't ever really use it since it went non-foss.

i tried a few times and it feels weird and gross (it's different so i don't like it)

@icedquinn I never used a sprite-editor. I was always comfortable using Pinta or Paint.NET and even then I usually only modify existing sprites from OpenGameArt. I do see the benefits but I wish there was a FOSS alternative.

@xianc78 krita with a pixel brush. although palette editing might be less comfy and it doesn't have the rotsprite algorithm built in
@xianc78 i have no idea if krita upstream could be convinced to add the pixel painting correction. that code was taken from public forums and was in the GPL versions of the program (which someone forked as "godot sprite editor" which i think died out of boredom) so there shouldn't be an issue with the license.
