Are you fucking kidding me?! Indie games is where releasing unoptimized games with insane hardware requirements for the graphics fidelity they offer thrive the most. I can't count the number of times I've seen shitty pixel-art games that for no justifiable reason require modern hardware to run. If it's pixel-art, it should run on a Pentium III.

@scarlet @bartholin It's because they are using bloated engines like Unity for 2D shit.

@PhenomX6 @bartholin @scarlet XNA/MonoGame is just a framework, not a full blown game engine. C# originally had built-in DirectX support, but Microsoft abandoned that in favor of XNA which they later discontinued.
