@ArdainianRight They're both liars. Do you really think Trump is going to save you?

@xianc78 @ArdainianRight Only thing I know for sure is that libertarianism won't save us. I can't think of a single "major" political ideology that has less chance of prevailing than lolbertism.
@ChristiJunior @xianc78 Nah, bro. You don't understand how our seasteading platforms will create a new libertarian society that totally won't get taken over by statists just like every other libertarian society ever.

@ArdainianRight @ChristiJunior They will have a hard time taking out every single one of them at once. We have 2/3rds of the planet to do it and multiple projects in the works.

@xianc78 @ChristiJunior The government doesn't even have to take them out militarily or whatever. That shit always gets co-opted from the inside out. The pioneers are men who crave independence, but they also crave women. The women latch onto the men and begin working to make the male individualist paradise just like every other shitty statist society. If your seasteads aren't patriarchal and sexist they'll just get turned into gay normie states like everything else.
@xianc78 @ChristiJunior Yeah, but you won't get men who stick around without women. Seasteading is a brilliant idea, but in order to use it to build a meaningful alternative society you need to base it around a right-wing religious cult, not libertarianism. The religious woo gives women something to buy into and the seemingly arbitrary socially conservative rules give them something to police. Once you have women under your control you have the carrot to reel in ambitious and industrious men to make your new society work, and because you're at sea it's a lot harder for the ATF to come after you than the Branch Davidians. The Mormons and Amish are notable for being relatively successful pioneer groups when it comes to actually maintaining an identity of their own when the rest of the world moved in, though Mormons have steadily fallen off and assimilated too much. Seasteading gives you the geographic space to maintain your own identity without artificial technological restrictions, but a religious cult is the best tool for building and maintaining a separate social order.
@xianc78 @ChristiJunior
Real-talk, you unironically have a better chance at building a successful seasteading society by founding a cult based off Harry Potter and/or Twilight than you do through libertarianism.
@ChristiJunior @xianc78 Build up a decent supply of brainwashed teenage/twenty-something pussy in an area beyond the reach of the law and everything else takes care of itself.

@ArdainianRight @ChristiJunior I'm just afraid that if it's not stateless then a shadow government will inevitably form or an existing shadow government would subvert it. Look what happened to the US and later, the rest of the world. The US should be proof that a constrained government doesn't work.

@xianc78 @ChristiJunior Being subverted or controlled by an outside force is kind of irrelevant to whether you label your seastead a "state" or a "privately owned autonomous community" or some similar euphemism.

@ArdainianRight @ChristiJunior That doesn't really help. Really, is it possible to create a new society that is immune, or at least more resistant to corruption? The only other option I can think of is to go back to monarchy (a good monarchy that is).
