I will never understand how users on an instance with "foss" in the name can be so blatantly in love with non-free software, and even promote those over free alternatives.

@Matty @tyil @charliebrownau @verita84 This guy told me that microwave ovens are Jewish and that I should be using a BBQ or air-fryer instead. Anyway Matrix did have security flaws in the past, but I think they've patched them by now. I still think XMPP+OMEMO is probably the better option.
Accessibility is important to me for the community I provide services to. Matrix is a decent middle ground.
