I hate to sound like a millennial, but once I get a new car and/or replace the stereo in my current car with one I can link to my phone, I can probobly justify investing in premium Spotify, and just stop buying CDs.
I will keep buying vinyl until the day I die, partially because I just like collecting records, and partially because I still find them the best option for home listening; but lugging the binders of CDs in my car is something that has worn thin in the last few years.

@Indigo MP3 players are cheap these days and you can just get a cassette adapter if your car's radio still has a cassette player.

@xianc78 I actually used to have a cassette adapter in my car, problem is that my cars cassette player died on me.
That was disappointing too, I had some good tapes that I liked playing.
