The only way tipping makes sense is if it's a free market, eg anyone can walk up and start being a server without prior agreement from the kitchen. Is that how this started? Jesters were middle-manning the kitchen and then got dominated?
@alex

I would love to see you work food service, gosh that'd be funny.
@mia I would be out of there before the weekend. It's difficult to explain the emotions and rage I felt working at Target. Totally helpless and dominated by a machine that views you as disposable.
@alex

You the kinda guy to order a $10 Starbucks with a $15 doordash fee and complain about tipping. Some experience in that field would quickly cure you of the misunderstanding.
@mia No you fucking idiot, I'm saying people should be paid a livable wage. You on the other hand should kill yourself, and stop making a dozen alts to misunderstand me on purpose in my mentions.
@alex tbqh we should be moving into a post-labor techno utopia where machines do almost all work, and people only work to pursue their own goals. but of course the way society is set up now we're going in the opposite direction of that

@meowski @alex That or we could see a return to cottage industries if automation could lower the costs and barriers to production. Which is why I want 3D-printing technology to improve in the coming years.
