I have a special edition of #indigoswax for you all today, as this was another "I got lucky," day at the record store; because I found a brand new (but heavily discounted, payed about 15 bucks for it), 2020 re-issue of the first Roxy Music album for 1972, on crystal clear vinyl!
When I say crystal clear, I'm not kidding around. I own other clear vinyl variants of other albums, and I've never seen one quite this clear. I don't know how well my shitty phone camera picks this up, but it genuinely looks like it's made of glass.
Roxy Music is one of my favorite bands of all time; this album was the first of two they made with Brian Eno still in the band, the other being "For Your Pleasure," which I also own on vinyl. After Eno left in 1973 they did go on to release six more albums, and while I personally really like pretty much all of them (with the possible exception of Flesh and Blood, which was very "eh," in my opinion), those first two records were on a whole other level.
I think if I were forced to choose, I would probobly say I like "For Your Pleasure" more by about a hair, but this is as close to a perfect album as your likely to find.
Also, you have to see footage of Roxy live in the early days; I can't think of another band, except maybe The Stooges, that matched the kind of energy they had on stage in 1972.

*(Also, I want to make it clear, I am *not* touching the grooves of the record in that photo, my thumb is on the rim, my three fingers are only making contact with the center label, and my index finger is floating. I know how to take care of my records, don't worry).

@xianc78 It's not a Macbook, it's an Asus VivoBook, couple years old; it's not *good,* but it functions for purposes of sitting next to my record player and scrolling Fedi whilst listening to music.

@Indigo Oh. It looked like there were Mac icons on the bottom of your laptop screen.

@xianc78 Nah, Windows 10 just kinda looks like that; the confusion is understandable.

@Indigo Installing Linux is easy. It's just a matter of installing an ISO onto a flash drive, rebooting your computer, going to the boot menu to boot to the flashdrive (usually by pressing F12 on the BIOS screen) and clicking install once you booted to Linux.

@xianc78 I don't doubt that that's the case, and I acknowledge I could probobly get everything running smooth inside an afternoon; but I also understand that I'm just as likely to break something, and what I've got right now works well enough for me.
I don't trust Microsoft with my info as far as I can kick them mind you, but I run a VPN and No Script plugins, so I'm alright for now.

@Indigo VPNs and script blockers don't protect you from OS backdoors.

@xianc78 You are correct, those are more useful for external threats. I guess what I mean is I'm at least as protected as I can reasonably be with my OS as it is.
I probobly will do the Linux thing, or adjust my OS in the future, but it works for now.
To reiterate, I am an idiot. :02_shrug:
