@Tadano That's an understandable take. Claiming Zelda had a "rough" transition to 3D, especially relative to the industry as a whole, is not. That goes double for Sonic fans.
@ArdainianRight @Tadano The game feels half empty because it is. It would've been better if it wasn't on a cartridge format.
@xianc78 @ArdainianRight I disagree that it would've necessarily been better on CD, as cartridge loading speeds are way better + I suspect Hyrule field's emptiness is due to processing power limits. Regardless of its flaws, Hyrule field was a technical achievement and captured a sense of vastness and freedom matched only by Daggerfall at the time, and beat the latter in presentation. MM absolutely made the right move in having a more compressed but dense overworld field though.

@Tadano @ArdainianRight It was supposed to be on magnetic disk which offered 64MB instead of 32MB. Also, being on the 64DD meant it would've used the expansion pack which offered more RAM.
