Many people who have watched clips from my Nostrasia talk are asking me how Nostr is pronounced. Officially, according to fiatjaf (Nostr's creator), any pronunciation is fine. However the most widely accepted form is "noss-ter", and rhymes with Nostrich (Nostr + Ostrich). Despite this, I refuse to pronounce it that way because I think it sounds bad.
@alex It's much easier to pronounce than my own username.

@Hyolobrika @alex That's one pronunciation. I actually got my username from a username generator that uses Chinese syllables. So you can also pronounce it as if it was Pinyin.
I know it's not exactly like a "sh" sound in English. But I'm not sure what it is exactly. Wikipedia is no help. This sounds just like a "sh" to me: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voiceless_alveolo-palatal_fricative
