I'm nowhere near a weeb and I know next to nothing about this Utau software, but I really love these characters for whatever reason.

@shadowferret @xianc78 five actually. i also dev for openutau which is basically a foss version of it

@lottev@veenus.art @xianc78@gameliberty.club wow. That's impressive! That reminds me, I found out recently that I use utau as a vst so I'm gonna try to use it in lmms.

@shadowferret @xianc78 you can't actually use utau as a vst (yet) so idk how you managed that lol. are you sure it's utau?

@lottev@veenus.art @xianc78@gameliberty.club its a third party plugin that uses utau voices. So it's not utau, but I can use the voices. (Haven't tried it yet so we'll see how it goes.)

@shadowferret ahh right, yeah i believe there are a few of those around. they’re sadly not as flexible as utau usually (and especially openutau) but they can be worth a try if you need something simple

which vst is it btw? im curious now, i might’ve heard of it

@lottev@veenus.art the one I'm considering right now is Parallel World. https://utaforum.net/threads/parallel-world-utau-vst-plugin.23009/

I figure that if I can get it to work in lmms it would be nice to have vocals. (That aren't me)

@shadowferret hmm i don't think ive heard of it, but it looks interesting. it seems to be world-based (which is an open source engine) judging from the name. i suspect it'd work best with japanese vocals, idk if that's what you wanna go for, but japanese is just easy to port to a sample-based vst
