ngl bluesky, for having 3 million users, still feels desolate, yet still retains that Twitter shitshow vibe

@PurpCat lol yup

you know, what is it witth these alternatives pulling the same shit? reminds me of vidme and odysee and the top videos were politics, whining about youtube and....that's about it.

@koimoa @PurpCat Because the migrations are politically motivated, not feature-motivated. Everyone likes Big Platform, but certain people don't like the culture or get censored. Alternative A opens its doors, and the first people motivated to go there are those people, who instantly turn their sub-culture into the main site culture simply by being the first large numbers. People jumped to Bsky because they didn't like Elon Musk's politics, not because it had a better UI or feature set.
@PunishedD @koimoa bluesky is literally a left wing version of alt-tech complete with the same problems.

Just like how CNN did that one alt-tech video with the woman going on about how it was all shit like moon man videos, bluesky is literally only focusing on Elon Musk and Donald Trump and as one person on another instance put it, it feels like a retirement home for 2010s socjus types on Twitter.

Because it literally was, if we were talking about Bitchute. Seriously, nothing but culture war, conspiracy, and other political shit on there. The few non-political stuff were just mirrors from Youtube and possibly not even by the original creator.

@xianc78 @koimoa @PunishedD yes and that's what bsky is like but on the left. It's literally nothing but political garbage and the worst of Twitter

@PurpCat @koimoa @PunishedD Are we talking ResetEra levels of bad? Is it the type of SJWs who claim that words like "crazy", "lame", and "dumb" are "ableist"?

@xianc78 @koimoa @PunishedD it's literally like in that pic I posted, someone posting a dilation pic to win an argument.

@PurpCat @koimoa @PunishedD I've seen worse. I use to lurk block-happy Mastodon instances like lgbt.io or forums like Raddle (basically Reddit for far-leftists) out of pure bile fascination and you will have the exact people that I'm talking about.

I even remember one person complaining about gender dysphoria being removed from the DSM because of the "ableist connotation that having a mental disorder is a bad thing".

>I even remember one person complaining about gender dysphoria being removed from the DSM because of the "ableist connotation that having a mental disorder is a bad thing".
Taken literally, I understand that point though. We don't avoid calling brain cancer an illness. There's a difference between "bad for you" and "evil". The former doesn't reflect badly on you, the latter does.

@Hyolobrika @koimoa @PunishedD @PurpCat It doesn't change the fact that some mentally ill people are dangerous and we shouldn't just let them roam around freely or play into their delusions.

we shouldn’t just let them roam around freely

Agree. But I would add that if you have to undergo something that is functionally identical to punishment, it should be treated legally as punishment not involuntary “treatment”. I.e. there should be proper trials that prescribe how long they should be kept in hospital-prison (it shouldn’t be indefinite), what kind of medical treatment they can be given, etc.

As for playing into their delusions, I believe that’s up to the individual. Free speech.

Or maybe involuntary medical treatment should be banned and instead they should just be locked up if they are dangerous.
