@PurpCat Read your blogpoast "Chasing the dragon of the past".
I agree that burnout is a major problem for 'net culture as a whole.
Though, I'm not sure whether the 'net has changed or I have. Being in a socially hostile environment where you have to "mask" is sure to turn you off on a subconscious level. Ditto when you feel you're not being productive and being preyed upon by a time vampire. E-relationships feel less real than meatspace.

However, IRL relationships are still subject to the dishonesty of good manners. Church people can be as oversocialized as wokies (that's the whole point of church), just with wholesumb chumgus famly values.

The question of this time is how to network the "sensitive young men"
while in a social fabric that is near totally desintegrated. It seems that you can only cast your net out there and make do with whatever scraps you find.
@Shauni imo the Internet has changed in two ways, the social communities went to shit and the people there aren't the same.

I could show you the profile of a former friend and if I told you that he was an imageboard addict on 8chan back in the day, you wouldn't belive he now has neopronouns and is fucked on drugs

@PurpCat @Shauni The old people aren't the same partially because of the former reason. Say what you want about the massive virtue signalling during the George Floyd riots, but some of them were bullied into saying that. A lot of people are simply afraid to be cancelled by the woke mob, and we are honestly getting to the point that you will be cancelled unless you are explicitly woke.

@xianc78 @Shauni the truth is I am already beyond canceled to the point that my old username will get ejected on sight by TG jannies who spent all their money on furry porn so I don't even care anymore about silly things like that.

@PurpCat @Shauni Well for those who already built a career off of their presence (be it webcomics, indie games, or videos) before 2016, you pretty much have your career ruined. Unless you are somehow able to sneak around the issue or are like JonTron and are somehow able to quickly recover from your damaged career.
