@PeachySummer did something airplane related happen

because my coworkers mentioned something in passing about it being hard to get flights

and now that i see someone on the internet talking about it as though something happened it has me wondering
@PurpCat @PeachySummer ah that's what i was missing. suddenly all the IT related jokes make more sense too
@binkle @PeachySummer yes it's taken down everything from 911 call centers to wagie jobs to hospitals to fedex systems

@PurpCat @binkle @PeachySummer I'm guessing it was either some disgruntled Microsoft employee who wanted to do some sabotage or it's the cyberattack that Klaus Schwab was "predicting".

bf said cyber whatever pushed an update that effectively bricked all those machines and now a bricked machine needs to have an update/patch manually deployed

@PeachySummer @binkle @PurpCat There is evidence that it was deliberate. They pushed a file full of null bytes to their agents which caused the BSoD on many computers.

@xianc78 @PeachySummer @binkle windows tried to load a null file as a driver breaking the OS.

it also wasn't MS but a "shitware" security program called croudstrike that wagiecorps run for "compliance" and only affected them, a job I went to today didn't use it so it's fine
@xianc78 @PeachySummer @PurpCat until someone takes responsibility I am skeptical. I've seen devs do very stupid things in the past and I don't put it past them to do something like this purely by accident
