@crunklord420 @wowaname Yeah, him crying over people merely having a religion showed me that he was always like this.
@wowaname @crunklord420 Yeah. He made a huge fuss about it on a forum he used to be on. He was ranked "Coder of Tomorrow" on said forum, but he got demoted because of it.
@wowaname @crunklord420 The worst part is that after he got demoted, he eventually got promoted again (and to moderator status too), only to abuse his privileges by kicking everyone off of the IRC channel after getting into a slapfight with someone, and deleting a thread about a calculator programming language.
After learning about these events, it was clear to me that he is literally the worst kind of Internet Tough Guy. He will literally climb the ranks of whatever Internet community and abuse his moderator powers on people he disagrees with. But now, he doesn't need moderator privileges. He just needs to be an influential figure in the FOSS community along with a cult of personality and he can cancel figures like Vaxry, or of course, Richard Stallman. You got organizations like Codeberg or the openSuse team that listen to him.
@djsumdog @crunklord420 @wowaname Wasn't GitHub's Co-pilot made to undermine the GPL?
Honestly, I think there are people who are worse than Drew DeVault. The "ethical software" movement immediately comes to mind. They actually want to destroy freedom 0 because they realize that it allows their ideological opponents to use their software in anyway they please. The only difference is that movement is still very niche. I can't think of any software released under an "ethical/antifascist" license that is even worth using.
