Does anyone have any experience with Qortal? It's a P2P web like ZeroNet, but it seems to be developed by actually competent people this time. Is it actually good or does it suffer from the same flaws as ZeroNet?
What I find really interesting is that they plan on having a P2P GitHub replacement. Which I think is great because most of the GitHub alternatives suck due to ideological bias *cough* SourceHut *cough*.
Though like ZeroNet, Qortal still has one flaw in that it seems like you need an account to post ANYTHING. Which makes it less than ideal for completely anonymous sites like Pastebins and imageboards, not like anyone would trust a completely P2P imageboard anyway.
@xianc78 git's already decentralised, here's a nickel kid
Well it seems like Qortal, despite being blockchain based, is aware that many blockchain projects are flawed or outright scams. They seem to have taken effort to make sure that Qortal is actually decentralized by making all users nodes, and the extensive documentation probably means that they are WAY more competent than nofish (the ZeroNet dev). They also plan to include mesh-networking in the long-term, so this can even circumvent the physical structure of the Internet.
