I worked at a BlueCross BlueShield for 2+ years. We had two bomb threats when I was there. Now if one of those bombs was real; say it took out eBusiness and me and all my co-workers were dead. Did we deserve it? Because we supported an evil company?

Oh but this guy was a big director level position and raked in millions in personal income. Okay, what if it was a manager who made $250k? Yep he should die, totally guilty, But what if it was a lowly software dev that made $65k? oh that's tragic. He's just a grunt in the machine. But what if it was a high end senior dev that made $165k. Well he should have known better and used his skills to get a better job. Okay, what if it was $165k .. in New York City. That's like $100k anywhere outside the cities adjusted for cost of living..

Where is the line? How much do you have to make or what level do you have to be at where vigilante justice and murder is justified.

I can understand your criticism, honestly. But this dude is literally like insurance Hitler. There's basically zero redeeming qualities.

In a company with thousands of workers, is is possible for him to literally know nothing about what's going on .. or even know and be powerless against the machine he may have built .. or be fully aware and psychotropic as fuck.

But we don't know the case here at all. I don't know if he had "zero redeeming qualities." Maybe he did. Maybe he didn't. But I don't know that. You don't know that. No one has been given a list of evidence of his specific involvement and role, so the idea he's "insurance hitler" is speculation. It could be true. It could be false.

Murder is wrong. I want to live in a world where someone doesn't assassinate me because they feel my decisions at work slighted them.

It would be nice if there is a way to make him pay somehow. Assassination and murder is not the way I want to see that happen. That's a crime against civilization. Why even have a fucking court system if the right answer is just to murder the person you think wronged you (or you and 20 million others).

You might say: "the system is rigged and fucked up. You can't vote your way out of it," and you would be right. I'd agree 100%.

I still don't see how murder of one individual you or one guy things wronged million does anything that fixes it. It literally does nothing except justify insane cathartic reactions that will never pacify or satisfy the collective rage of a society. They only make such things worse.

Do I have direct proof its because of his assassination? No. Do I think they're related, yeah.

I don't like violence but I do think that sometimes people need to be reminded about how fragile their positions in society are. CEOs have gotten the golden ticket a million times over the last 30 years, and a couple dying, especially ones like that guy, seem perfect to act as that reminder.

Perhaps you two can reach a compromise and agree that targeted assassination is not good, or moral or ethical, but it CAN be highly effective at getting a whole lot of powerful people to sit up, take notice, and start to give a fuck about solving a hellish problem that they have all tolerated being part of.

But yes I do think a targeted attack against a common enemy can be highly effective at creating positive change. Almost no one likes this guy, this is perhaps the most united people have been on any issue in like..... idk a decade? I think that means something.
