>This thing is just a text-book psychological operation. You divide conservatives in half along the lines of those who truly hate Indian people versus those who don't and just want basic citizen first policies.
I think it's going to lead to those on the ethnonat right to leave Twitter and join some other platform. The plan is to put everyone into their own echo-chambers where their ideas can never be challenged.

* Apoliticals still on Twitter
* Musk fans also on Twitter
* MAGA boomers on Gab, Minds, and Truth Social
* Right-libertarians on Nostr
* Ethnonationalists and ethnosupremacists on fedi instances like Poast and NCD
* Leftists on BlueSky
* Extreme Leftists on most Mastodon servers
There will be exceptions, of course, but this is where we are heading towards.

I considered getting one back in the early 2010s because unlike Facebook, it wasn't filled with shitty distractions like games and quizzes, but I'm glad I never did because I would've gone to even bigger drama than what goes on here.

@StockliRacer
But both of you are still talking about what is going on there. Half the posts on the fedi are screenshots from Twitter. As Caleb pointed out, opinions filter between platforms.

Correct. I read the posts from X that I can get and interest me, and when I come across something interesting that’s in a thread reader, I’ll follow up with that too. But it’s not gospel for me. And I want to stay away from being tied to any one platform. I think that leads to trouble. Better to have a variety of source material, and make up your own mind.
I have a friend who sends me TikTok videos. They don't work at all in my browser, so I always have to use yt-dlp to download them. Some are interesting. Sometimes he asks me for a copy when they get removed, because he knows that's the way I watch them.
So it's kinda a filter ... but I also see that he clearly has Tiktok brain and that's sad.
@djsumdog
You need someone like that that's deep in the Tiktok algo to farm all the good posts. He sacrificed himself for the greater good.

I don’t have one either. Don’t want one, don’t feel like I need it. There is enough information available elsewhere on the net and off, and I don’t want to depend on it for all my info, just like I didn’t, and don’t, want Facebook, instagram or tik tok either.
