Meanwhile even Windows 10/11 that ships with next to no drivers has support for Wi-Fi cards out of the box (so it can download them from WU or so you can go online to download the others from the driver site). Of course this leads to issues like if your laptop has a weird driver setup and the update keeps breaking it (I have an AMD like this), but it just werks on most modern normie laptops.

At the very least, get certified in one of those fields. It doesn't matter if your house costs 3mil or 300k ~ if your pipes break you want the best guy. Be that guy and you'll never be out of work.
Seriously hiring people to fix stuff is for rich, busy people. I know grown men that literally don't know how to change a lightbulb.
Higher skill trades are also sort h1b proof. It's really hard to outsource that knowledge. My company is owned by Indians and they tried but found that actually making money is more important than hiring their 200 cousins from Mumbai.

I understand. I wasted my late 20s-30s trying to get into graphics and visual communications. Got told my work was excellent but there were 10 people ahead of me with more experience and credentials. Then tried to do game dev but the team I pulled together was more about the idea than the work and it fell apart.
