@nyanide I can't imagine posting anywhere else on the Internet, when fedi collapses I will just return to having no social media, can't even post on 4chan anymore. In fact, I never posted anywhere daily before fedi. I wish the one place on the Internet that had whatever special formula makes my brain tick didn't have so many problems.

Imageboards, with the exception of sussy baka fed maintained ones like 4chan, are infeasible to host on the modern web with how prevalent CP and DDOS attacks are now. Soyjak.party has a Daisy's Destruction reuploading incident every month now. Do you really want to actively post on such a site?

@Forestofenchantment @cassidyclown @nyanide it's highly likely many of them are. also are there not cp instances that pop up on fedi as well? any self-moderated system has to deal with this.
@bleedingphoenix @cassidyclown @nyanide The difference between an imageboard and Fedi is anonymity. A retard spamming child porn (like Pawoo) can be muted, blocked, defederated, doxxed and reported to the authorities (extreme, but still an example), etc in order to deal with the problem. On an imageboard? You'll just have to report and hope that a janny sees it. And there is nothing to stop the offender from just doing it again, as there are no accounts or identifying pieces of information on a totally anonymous imageboard. Null talks about this a lot when justifying shutting down 9chan, I believe it was called.

@Forestofenchantment @cassidyclown @nyanide @bleedingphoenix Textboards don't have this problem. I suggested that on the 8chan bunkers when people really started to CP spam the hell out of them, but a lot of them refused because they liked posting images and video.
