@pomstan NGL once I'm done here I want to remain abroad for building a career/company. Don't see much of a future trying to hack away at things in Leafistan. There's a zeitgeist of sclerosis here and I don't want to stop thinking at 25 or 35 like the majority of boomers/gen X did.

@sendpaws @pomstan I always envy you Americans' position relative to Canada. You guys at least have *some* cohesive organized effort against national sclerosis. And frankly your country would blush at the corporate corruption and fraud we have here; Nortel's only the most famous example.
The only Canadian companies that don't implode from sloth and corruption are the ones bought out by the Americans. The ones that aren't and still exist mostly live off government gibs (see: Bombardier). Just about every major sector (industry, foods, services) is dominated by an oligopoly. 25% of employed workers work in the public sector, and that's not getting into companies that mostly contract for the government. Practically every economic research entity, no matter how retarded, rightfully predicts Canada as underperforming greatly for the next decade.
Our troonout industrial complex is one of the most insidious in the world and out in smaller towns the only stores open past 6:00pm are pharmacies, chain grocers and weed stores. Outside QC, LGBT agitprop dons every corner and most normalfags are true current thing stasi to the point the GDR would blush. And this is all before addressing the jeet question and our outright evil government.
If I start a business whose only holdings are here, it'll be like wading up a hill of molasses. I'll be dealing with the current crop of shitkicker businesses and the government, without something like a 30 year long career and its benefits to maneuver around it. I'm blessed enough to have good family connections, but even so the pond here dries every day. Plus everyone successful I know here did work outside of the country at some point.
If I start a family here, I'm going to need to live as though the feds are after me because they will be. From very personal experience the goal of every institution kids get put through is to groom them first into bisexuality, then homosexuality, then trooning them out. All while isolating them from the disciplinarian parent (usually the father) and puppeting the other parent into being an enabler. If you resist this or speak out about it, you're liable to be imprisoned under hate speech laws and have your kids taken. Again, the GDR would blush and I don't want to live under that.

After the last 10 years of any cohesive national identity being completely eroded, 10 years of the country being irreparably destroyed under the liberal party, there is still somehow one last hurrah for anti-American contrarianism to the point Carney will get elected. Possibly the last movement resembling nationalism we'll ever see in Canada and its identity is a negation, one indistinguishable from what you see out of blue states.
I should add though, I don't think you would see this to nearly the same extent if the conservatives weren't more impotent than a Chinese imperial court. They haven't a modicum of strategy beyond mediocre pandering to the Liberal party audience, nor an agenda that differs even slightly from the Liberals!
