reminder that LEGO® is an evil litigious company that will try to silence criticism by suing fans, sues fan games, sues people for using LEGO® generically for other bricks. plus their prices are ridiculous and their sets are bad.
@kaia i would argue solely on the bad sets thing and say it definitely varies a lot im quite content with mine lately but yeah it is insanely overpriced, dont know much about the litigousness stuff

@ube @kaia From what I've heard at least the legal stuff regarding competition is nothing. Mega Blocks won 14 lawsuits from LEGO.

@xianc78 @kaia whats a competitor to lego thats cheaper and actually good? i've been doing their flower sets lately but other models would be cool. do i just go for 1:1 chinese clones or something?

@ube @kaia I don't know honestly. I just know that Mega Blocks won 14 lawsuits against LEGO. I think we had more Mega Blocks than Lego growing up but I don't know how good they are today.

@xianc78 @kaia i always just had lego so i really wouldnt know out of experience but probably i will keep buying from lego instead of trying competitors because i hate change and this specific brand, lego, is like locked in my brain since childhood it would feel wrong to use something slightly different or a cheap copy

@ube @kaia We still called them Lego. I think some bricks could even connect to Lego bricks.

@xianc78 @kaia interesting. have you seen the lego botanical sets? theyre very pretty, like youd expect them not to be but like look at this random reddit photo of them i found, they look REALLY good and i definitely can confirms especially at a distance. i left most of them behind when i moved though so i only have one set up currently, got another box waiting for me though
