The smartest group are the Ashkenazim, so about 10 million individuals. They contributed 25% of all scientific Nobel laureates - more than 200, so far. That's about 1000 times above their demographic weight.
They contributed 20% (based on attribution, up to 27%) of all Fields Medals for mathematics.
With 0.02% of the world population - 0.0013% if one counts only the Ashkenazim.
So they out-perform their demographic weight in intellectual achievements by a factor of 1000!

The same test can be performed on classical composers - they contributed at least 20-30% of the most significant ones.
Writers, artists, economists (not Marx!) and entrepreneurs.
