So it turns out that the used Windows 10 laptop I bought actually has Windows 11 on it, or it somehow automatically updated to Windows 11. Whatever, I'm only using it to compile and debug stuff anyway.

If you sell used computers, please double check the OS installed on the PC.

Seriously, how can people tolerate this shit? I can't believe how slow modern Windows is. I need to compile the Windows binary later because I can't deal with this bullshit right now.

@xianc78 I am sure you can set up something or other to use it as a remote agent for compilation, WSL might even work for that without too much hassle

@xianc78 It's because it's a laptop model that originally shipped with 10, but now is factory installed with 11 instead because otherwise it would just upgrade to 11 anyway once the customer sets it up, and probably they can't have it at the factory without it trying to update to 11 at every chance it gets

But you're right on the slow part. It feels like being back to 95-98 in terms of UI responsiveness, not to mention how many cycle of read/writes it inflicts on memory support because reasons. And people actually work on these things
