So I just learned that the Spongebob episode where Spongebob and Patrick tried to get Mr. Krabs to feel young again is not on Paramount+ and has also been taken off of re-run circulation on Nick because the episode featured a "panty raid".

I've also learned that many episodes of 90s and 2000s TV shows have been taken out of circulation and off streaming services because they used the word "gypped".

I'm so fucking sick and tired of this bullshit. I would have never thought that early 2000s humor or media that used certain words, even taken in a non-derogatory context would be on the same level as racist cartoons from the 1950s.

@xianc78 whaaaat? it didn't stop at the icky racist cartoons?

no way

who could've told?

@0vtcast @rlier23 Digital media is still fine as long as it's DRM-free. They can't touch any of the MP3 files on my MP3 player for example. Streaming services are the only problem here.

@xianc78 @rlier23 Maybe but I always worry about some EMP wrecking all the hard drives and power sources

@0vtcast @rlier23 That EMP would also wreck your DVD player, VCR, CD player, and cassette player, so that's a moot point.

@xianc78 @rlier23 I guess that only leaves books vs ebooks as a sufficient case then
