@noyoushutthefuckupdad @ergo @bajax If you only care about playing music, just get a digital voice recorder. They are basically the same thing as you can load MP3 files onto them and they even have playlist functionality, plus they are much more durable from my experience.

@ergo @bajax @noyoushutthefuckupdad Some of them do have those things. I have one that even has FM radio and it's still marketed as a voice recorder.
@noyoushutthefuckupdad @xianc78 @bajax @ergo They changed the line for Clip Sports, which had less RAM, which made rockbox not workable on it. They made a gimped version of rockbox on it, but, yeah
@coolboymew @bajax @ergo @xianc78 the Clip Zip was freaking perfect, but mine are really wearing down from age. I bought myself the Hifi Walker, which I will use to listen to anime podcasts that aren't as good as ours

Great when I didn't have much money and I STILL didn't have a fucking cellphone somehow, but otherwise in the long run is wasn't economical, I really should have went for an old iPod and installed rockbox on that instead
