i do wonder if they intend on eventually having normoids pivot entirely to phoneslop as "gaming"
@merchantHelios The graphics market is over

AAA are failing the fuck out and you can STILL rock a 1060 and play a surprising amount of games. I imagine you could have slightly better and just still play everything

If anything, IMO, the retards are gonna kill their entire market once China or another company catch up to their tech and the AI bubble bursts, as they're going to leave a massive hole to be filled, and once it's filled, it's gonna be over for them
@coolboymew @merchantHelios Speaking of GTX 1060 I still got one sitting in a box ( 6GB ) model. I thought about selling it but I may keep it as a backup GPU incase my 3070ti shits the bed.

The AAA needs to adapt and stop making expensive unoptomized pajeet coded slop if they want to get gamers to buy their games if there are hardware shortages.

That said the PS5 and Xbox Series generation has been a total fucking disaster. Just Shitty UE5 remakes of 20 year old games , package recompilations of older games. The best newest game I played of recent time wasn't even a AAA title and from a AA studio instead Sandfalls Expedition 33 Clair Obscur. Not the best game I ever played but it was really well done and modern studios should look at how to make a game instead of this unoptimized games a service slop and charging top dollar for it.

Xbox's most hyped title Halo: Infinite was an utter fucking disaster and the only good thing that came of it was it was soo bad Microsoft had to get rid of Bonnie Ross to save face.
@ooignignoktoo @merchantHelios Pretty much, it's still good as a backup

The thing is that AAA cost too fucking much and they refuse to make anything good, innovative and shorter than extremely mega openslop experience and it's just obviously straining them out, meaning, there's basically no use to max out your graphic capabilities anymore, not only they're struggling but you don't wanna play these games anyways

So the PC market is going from enthusiast, to more mainstream to probably specialized enthusiast again

Catching up to these companies and making new graphic card won't be easy, but shit has stagnated badly for so long and if they don't deliver, then someone else will in the market

Otherwise, about consoles, just think about it, the Switch 2 isn't amazing hardware yet it got Star Wars Outlaw (it just looks good), the new FF7 remake, it's also getting Pragmata and the latest RE. So decent optimization can go a long way but a weak hardware like that can keep up, so... What's the point of big hardware anymore
@coolboymew @merchantHelios @ooignignoktoo Game devs will have to go back to the days where you either make a game that nobody can play because your PC needed to play it costs more than a used Nissan Altima, or one that is designed to run on some poverty spec PC.

Like gamedevs had to do in the 80s, 90s, and now. Why do you think not many games were made for the Atari STE/Falcon, AGA Amigas, PC-9821 (the 256 color model, not to be confused with the 9801), PC-88VA, and more?

It's because a minority owned them, and these fancier computers could run the games for the older ones.

Why write a game for the 5090 when the majority are gonna be owning PS5s and 8GB VRAM gpus?

Maybe this will bring Chris Sawyer out of retirement.
