>Finding a weird lone single ant in Feb in the house

????? What the fuck?
@anemone It's like -20C here though, and has been for a few weeks, so that's bad fucking news. I don't think lone ants can survive randomly

So big chances there's a colony around, or they're from the basement and coming from the small earth holes from under the concrete wall and one of them woke up for whatever reasons, but I haven't seen any since like July-August at least so that's fucking weird
@coolboymew @anemone Usually queen ants will do that and it's a sign you may have an infestation come spring. You may want to lay some ant bait traps down you got a chance to. I had an issue last spring and had to put some liquid ant bait on my stove and I literally saw 100's of them go for it and then a day or two later no more ants.
@ooignignoktoo @anemone hmmm I wonder if it's a good idea to put it in the basement, which is most likely where they are anyways. I might have one left

@ooignignoktoo @anemone @coolboymew Just use a mixture of baking soda and powdered sugar. If you mix them together, ants can't distinguish between the two. The powder sugar acts as bait, while the baking soda kills them by reacting to their stomach acid and causing their abdomens to explode.

Just remember it has to be powdered sugar.

@xianc78 @ooignignoktoo @anemone I heard borax and sugar does it too, but I don't have none of these except baking soda
@Leyonhjelm @anemone @ooignignoktoo @xianc78 is that a bad combination or something? I saw places that recommended it
@coolboymew

Dunno. Most of what I run into as "internet recipes for napalm" are more like ant killer or natural pesticides.
