Fuck me, man. Every single retro-ish device out there always ends up being an underpowered, luxury item :loli_suicide: What do you mean this is 350 dollars :pepe_dread: Somebody please think of the poorfags.
@Kerosene what in the christ is that abomination?

Another attempt at that crank handheld thingy but without understanding anything about it? IMO the portability and the sheer limitations made this looks not bad. A stationary console? Ehh? What's the gimmick?

@coolboymew @Kerosene Someone needs to copy my idea (anyone is free to do so by the way). They would make millions.

@xianc78 @coolboymew @Kerosene handhelds have gotten more bloated than modern smartphones have and it's unreal, especially the Deck being bigger than the Lynx 1...
@PurpCat @Kerosene @xianc78 The deck somewhat warrants it and has the buttons and tech to show for it
@PurpCat @Kerosene @xianc78 the problem is that you NEED a nice big screen, otherwise shit would become quickly unplayable
@coolboymew @Kerosene @xianc78 depends on the game the GPD Win 1 was fine but had the most chinese build quality and no click sticks.
@BionicNigga @Kerosene @xianc78 @coolboymew yeah the build quality is something the Deck and even ROG Ally do far better; it was truly awful.

@PurpCat @Kerosene @coolboymew I think the Pandora has a decently sized screen too, and it was around the size of a DS.

@PurpCat @xianc78 @coolboymew Depending on what kind of trade-offs you're okay with, there are some things you could do to be able to play PC games on a smaller and lighter handheld:
- Get a cheap chinkheld like I did and play indie/ported games that can run on it via Portmaster (currently Counter Strike 1.6, Half Life, Stardew Valley, Super Mario 64/Zelda ports, and a myriad of itch.io-style indie games can run on it).
- Get a slightly less affordable handheld with a 16:9 screen like the Mangmi Air X or whatever it is that is best in that price range for streaming, and simply stream your PC games to your handheld using Moonlight. Obviously if you want to play wherever you go it's going to be more difficult, but not necessarily impossible. There's a way to stream your games to outside your local network but I'm too retarded/lazy to set up that kind of thing.
- Buy a cheap telescopic USB-C/Bluetooth controller and use your sailfoam to do the streaming thing. Poorfag-core option.
@PurpCat @xianc78 @Kerosene @coolboymew the deck is a “lounge held” like the switch not a true handheld. It fits a different niche. I got an ayn Thor to be an actual handheld. What I like about the deck is I can take it to a friends house and we can play pc games on the couch with all my saves transferred.
