@coolboymew There must be some tech news site out there that doesn't cover that crap. It would be a great place to learn about the few companies who still make dumb appliances and stuff like that.

I read maybe one or two URLs/week from there, sometimes none. I try to find something odd, nlt the usual "bla considered bad". If you read a lot from these guys it warps your mind.

Is still a good site to dip toes into the stream. By now I still find one page/day on HN which was worth my time. Sadly, other sites have a even worse ratio.
Try to use niches like gemini or lemmy with a useful filter. The fringe is much more "smart-free" oriented.
