I think that #Mastodon is one of the few places where you’ll see entire communities quake in fear over relatively moderate and slightly libertarian political policies.

If this #Wikipedia article is accurate, the #ÖrebroParty, @mullvadnet and #JanJonsson have nothing to apologize for.

People like #JörgSeidel crying wolf and manufacturing outrage over supposed extremism will be why, when extremism actually shows up, it will be met with malaise, if not embraced wholeheartedly. You can only cry wolf so many times before people will just shake the wolf’s hand when he shows up.

@realcaseyrollins @lostgen @mullvadnet I respect anyone's right to boycott and product/service for political reasons, but these people who go out of their way to make sure not a single penny goes to any cause that is even remotely right-wing are trying way too hard. Eventually, they are going to realize that it's not really possible unless you go completely off-grid.

@xianc78 @lostgen @mullvadnet @realcaseyrollins I don't know, it's totally possible. Communists often oppose mass immigration on humanitarian grounds and because of its deleterious impact on worker's wages. This also tends to get exaggerated by bad actors loosely affiliated with the left, sometimes in the employ of certain three-letter agencies that don't like foreign VPNs

@ryan
Don't write such bullshit into my mentions. It is completely irrelevant how they describe themselves. If their objective is mass deportations of people, they are evil. Hitler described himself as "national socialist", too.
@xianc78 @mullvadnet @realcaseyrollins

@lostgen @mullvadnet @xianc78 @lostgen @ryan @xianc78 @mullvadnet Ah. That portion I can read, but there's a paywalled portion of the page that seemed to have more information, I was assuming that's where the true meat of the article was because the text above it didn't really provide much to go on beyond one person's accusation.

Can you get past this part? If so, would you mind sharing what it says?

@realcaseyrollins
I see, i did not think there might be more to it. The judgment of the local journalist seems clear though.
@ryan @xianc78 @mullvadnet

@lostgen @mullvadnet @xianc78 @lostgen @ryan @xianc78 @mullvadnet True, but I don't know him. I wanted to know what led him to that conclusion.

Calling anyone a fascist is not hard to do, which making the claim, without any evidence, pretty non-notable.

@realcaseyrollins
It's not that he is the only one seeing the party as such. Maybe you can research a bit and it will be obvious. Hint: they want mass deportations.
@ryan @xianc78 @mullvadnet

@lostgen @mullvadnet @xianc78 @lostgen @ryan @xianc78 @mullvadnet Mass deportations aren't any more fascist than taxes.

I may look into it, but your inability to articulately explain your backing for a position you hold so strongly and passionately says something about the strength of the position itself. I'd be more apt to believe you if you explained why you feel the way you do.

The way you're talking here is leaning quite heavily into the point I was making in my quote post.

@realcaseyrollins
Ah yes. Taxes are like mass deportations says the person not threatened by deportations. blocked.
