@sendpaws Unfortunately, any centralized platform is going to suffer from the same regulatory pressure as Discord, so any alternative needs to be decentralized while also being user friendly. I don't know how it can be done though.
We literally have Teamspeak and Mumble. Both are self-hostable. Both don't require the user to host a full stack server like Matrix does. Both give the user 100% control over their own server.
@xianc78 I mean maybe make calling work on shit like Matrix first. But I think the biggest problem is the userbase.
Both their friends using it, and having to deal with anyone other than edgelords trying to assert their dominance.
